Trisha A. Barita

Managing Attorney

Trisha is the managing attorney for the Barita Law Firm, PLLC and has been practicing as a licensed Texas attorney for 16 years in the areas of employment and business law all over the State of Texas with offices in Downtown Houston and League City. She strives to bring a creative and collaborative approach to her Clients that create a lasting relationship.  

She has represented anywhere from small local businesses to large corporations in labor and employment law matters on the management side. Her practice includes consultation and legal representation in administrative and litigated matters(EEOC, OFCCP, DOL, TWC) , workplace investigations, management training (On various topics including Sexual Harassment & Diversity, Discrimination, Retaliation, Leave Issues w/FMLA, Leave & Interactive Process w/ADA, EEOC, OFCCP, FLSA, NLRA), drafting policies and procedures for Employers, and draft employment agreements (Non-disclosure, Non-compete, Severance Packages, Releases).

During this process, Trisha also develops a consistent approach for her clients on how to handle human resource (HR) issues such as hiring, discipline, termination, and effective employee evaluations. Throughout the consultation and representation process, she has advised clients on employment policies and procedure for employee handbooks for her corporate and business clients.

She also handles her business and corporate clients needs regarding contract negotiations with other businesses and governmental entities. She assists clients with drafting many contract terms including tailoring the contract to protect from vicarious liability of independent contractors and employees, covenants not to compete, and fair business dealings. She also drafts and interprets employment agreements that limit her business and corporate clients’ liability in areas of non-disclosure, covenants not to compete, or a contract breach.

She is the current President of the Association of Business and Professional Women for the year of 2020. She also was the National Association of Women Business Owner (NAWBO)– Houston Chapter’s President 2015-16 and selected as NAWBO’s Women of Excellence in 2016.  She has also been chosen as a Rising Star for Super Lawyers in 2018 and 2019  that recognizes no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in the State of Texas 

She regularly provides speeches and training on employment law or business law matters to corporate management, trade organizations, business employer groups and Chambers of Commerce in the Houston and surrounding areas.
